BRUSH WITH DEATH

o my god- could my life get any crazier???
this morning i was late for work and decided, last minute, NOT to hold my pee and went to the bathroom- usually i'll hold it just to get the gallery open and get to work! but my over-imbibing last night caused a powerful urge to pee right away. suddenly, i heard a cracking thunder and then the house shook!! i looked outside and this HUGE branch had fallen where michelle's car normally is (she was luckily at a RARE saturday work thing) and half of it was pinning my car down. had i gone outside i would have been putting the top down on the car and then squashed. yep- DEAD.
it was so loud that my neighbours came out and we couldn't move the branch- i looked up to see the damage to the tree (it's the fourth largest registered sycamore in harris county) and noticed another branch dangling precariously... and suddenly marlia (my neighbour) was like "o my god!" and it started to come down and i jumped out of the way- finnegan the cat darted like a bat out of hell too!!

so enjoy the pictures of my brush with being impaled and/or squashed by a branch. moral of the story. be late to work. it's meant to be. and don't hold your pee.
xoxoxo

look at the size of these mothers!
michelle chopped them up when i was at work.

they're as tall as i am and that's after they were chopped up!

serves 'em right!

this is my tree spirit man. either he, mr. god, or my lovely kim protected me.
he escaped unscathed...

if you've kept up with the site this and last week, you know i lost a dear friend to suicide. i'm doing well and thank you for your emails/calls, etc. i'm posting some pictures of me in san francisco when i got to visit with kim. needless to say, it was a CRAZY time and we even got lost in the bay area at night and went across the wrong bridge!! but we both made it home before 4:00am, if i remember correctly. i was staying in Fisherman's Wharf and kim went back to palo alto for the night.

alcatraz. it's over there.

watching the big, fat seals and sea lions at pier 39.

trendy punks trying to make money off of tourists!

i took their picture anyway because i am not a tourist!!
-and they are not punk rock!
