off to indiana!!!!

i went back to my island recently to see my family and friends... to rediscover what i'd left behind so many years ago... i'd forgotten the magic that resides there.

this update will be in three parts i believe. here's part one. enjoy. xoxo

no, it's not indiana, but i wanted to show you what i left behind. you see, in texas
we have crawfish boils. they're little mini freshwater lobsters that live in the bayous, swamps, and creeks and ditches in your front yard. y'all know i don't eat meat being a vegetarian now some 17 years. but hey, i'll certainly drink some beer.

now onto my trip.

on the way to indiana, past mississippi and tennessee, is missouri, and many mcdonald's. just kidding, this is the st. louis arch.

now, i had to go to chicago first and do a little show, and when it was over i went to go see my dear friend kim in plymouth, indiana. it's a sleepy little town in central northern indiana.

outside of chicago in illinois there is a skyway that is raised above the outer suburbs of south east chicago and into indiana.

thar she blows!!

i got to kim and joe's house exhausted, but we busted out the wine, listened to morrissey, and read poetry. i wanted to smoke so we headed out to the garage with wine in hand.

this is really fun. i hope y'all enjoy these pics of my dear friend kim and me. we had a riot together.

toddicus and sawblade. there are so many things to play with in garages!!

kim does her best morrissey.

i adore this picture- it's that arty, blurry mess that i love.

toddicus: kills moles and gophers.

the tonka toy attacks toddicus. (wine stained teeth!!! yikes!)

kim: "it's time to get down to business."

toddicus: "bring it on bitch"

it's a scary pair-

uuurrrrrggghhh blleeeeerrrffff maaaabble bleeeeeeeeeberrrrrrr

wine in disney cups. it just doesn't get better than this.

the next morning (ugh, headache) we headed into town for a day of shopping.

this is downtown plymouth, much like many of the other small indiana towns look like- all of the original buildings are kept just as they were in the yesteryear.

kim and i decided to go thrift shopping- it's soooo much better in small towns because you're not paying high prices like in the big cities. shirts i was buying here for 75 cents would've been eight dollars in houston.

kim makes a comment to me about who might have worn these clothes before us and i had
to breathe through my teeth... notice the pomegranate juice in my hand. brought it in from chicago... i couldn't find it in indiana.

there's no place like indiana... there's no place like indiana... there's no place like...

we're fabulous.

i almost bought this shirt.

kim finds some racey blue shoes.

gotta get those shoes!!! where's my money!??!!??

i found some really bad posters for sale. you know, those cheesey patriotic ones.

on the way to lunch we drove past the old courthouse.

we ate at the magical christo's...

and kim found something peculiar in her soup... at least it wasn't a finger.

then we shopped more and i spent a few hundred bucks and headed for
the house i grew up in. i had a brilliant time with kim and her husband and adorable kids.

in the next update i'll take you to mounds state park, camp chesterfield, and the nile egyptian restaurant in anderson, indiana. until then... love to you all. xoxoxoxo

my birthday.

(this seems to be confusing a bunch of you... my birthday was march 19th- but we celebrated it in april because i was traveling)
now let's not make a big deal out of it. i am a pisces afterall, we just had to celebrate a little late. i actually spent my birthday in hollywood, california. but when i got home, my friends took really good care of me.

but first, i shaved my head this week. it was time.

it really really really was time to recycle the old crap on my head.

ok. birthday pics are here.
we headed to my favourite wine bar in houston, la carafe. you've seen us here before. it's the oldest building in houston- and haunted, you know?

getting purple teeth with mary.

michelle and toddicus (looks like i'm getting tipsy already) celebrating.

opening cards/gifts...

michelle got me a really cool asian pot.

our table. raj brought a nice platter with chocolate stuff and candied almonds.

now tell me that the chocolate doesn't look like a big pile of shit on rose petals.

dip a rose petal in the chocolate and eat up... sorry, can't get over how much
it looks like poo poo.

brandon and kurt came to celebrate...

who did michelle take a picture of??

trisha shows up (behind me) and i just don't know how much i'm gonna drink.

toddicus gets a birthday hug from trisha.

girlfriends. (not in the romantic sense goofheads!!)

ok. disclaimer. brandon is straight. but i was drinking and he's my best friend. so i had a lot of things to tell him. nothing romantic is going on here either. thankyouverymuch.

toddicus tells brandon a secret.

more intense talking...

i jumped in brandon's lap.

"i'm drunk and you're my best friend in the whoooooooole woooorld."
notice brandon's middle finger going up.

time for toddicus to behave!!

hair balls!!!

morgan (brandon's girlfriend) and mary.

another good picture of me and michelle.

who's gay?

brandon and michelle on the way home with the top down. no, i'm not driving.

goodbye until next time... chicago pics, indiana pics and a big ol' crawfish boil.

xoxoxox

thanks for all of your kind emails.

how random. somewhere between el paso and houston, someone lost a boot.

a poet's dream home.

see the dust storm on the horizon? they're nasty to drive through.

big ass dust devil in the distance- they'll knock your car right off the road if you're not careful.

the mountains were in a rare bloom from the freakish arizona rainstorms.

sunset in california on I-10.

view from my hotel room (ramada) on santa monica boulevard.

twas rainy when i got into town.

this is my girl annie who lives in hollywood. we spent a lot of time together (o, you could say everyday) in college. we had lunch on melrose at pann cafe? (can't remember the name!)

my leek soup and seaweed/avacado sandwich. yum!

annie's girl eva jane strikes a pose.

celebrated my birthday at a japanese restaurant in hollywood. i'm one year old!!
look at eva jane wanting to blow out my candle!! little cutie!

went back to annie's and had wine and laughs (and presents!!)

daddy miklos shows eva the ropes!

toddicus in the elevator...

again...

cute.

where i worked for three days.

i was sat next to alice cooper in the morning before i left la. that's him walking away with his girlfriend.

goodbye hollywood.

goodbye downtown la.

goodbye bald mountain.

bye bye

goodbye windmills. you're so damn big! shit!

they're just enormous. it's weird.

driving downhill in el paso.

for those of you who know my love for siouxsie sioux (see influences/links page) i just couldn't resist snapping a shot of this sign.

the great north american desert lions. there's no such thing, sorry.

loooooooooooooong drive baby.

yuck

i murdered a lot of butterflies.

sick sick sick. one of the butterflies was still flapping its wings. eeeeeeeeewww.

when i got back to houston, brandon and morgan had a drink with me...

brandon and morgan got me my favourite whiskey- 15 year old glenmorangie.

the next night we headed to the big top downtown houston.

this is a great bar. the whole gang showed up and had a blast.

the scattered pages were there... and raj too in the saavy pink collar.

mary was there... of course!!!

toddicus and dee dee.

i think someone exposed their breasts for april and myself.

raahhhrrr!! leave me and my lone star beer alone!!

dee dee looking elfish.

mary and the red light.

uhh... what??

goodbye my friends- thanks for your patience on this update- i've been on the road sooo much.

next update will be my birthday in houston (late bday that is) and then chicago and indiana for you indiana the island followers- lots of good stuff. i know the poetry hasn't been updated for some time, but i'm working on this new book and don't wanna give away any suprises.

see y'all reeeeeeeal soon,

Past adventures of Toddicus:
