i will have a full and complete update on monday... i promise!! but in the meantime... here's the reason i haven't had any updates besides all the other things i posted before...

it's my new 'dream of the blue turtles' computer that my brother made from my old computer... isn't she awesome!!??!! there's turtles etched in the glass (close ups to come) and all kinds of whacky things...

so tomorrow night when i figure out this editing program, i'll have y'all a nice fresh update- more of myself in alaska and canada and then some!! thanks for your patience!!

(old post...)

ok ok so you're all wondering where toddicus is...

i've been dealing with the death of my second mother- yesterday was the funeral. i'm also having my computer completely rebuilt, and traveling my ass off. i promise new updates soon- lots to share with you. book orders were delayed from the hurricane but are on their way now (so i hear). meanwhile check out some of the archives of past updates you might have missed...

archived updates

juneau, alaska- the capitol city.

i've got a lots more pictures to show you from my travels to alaska on this update...
but first let's talk about what's been happening down here in the southern united states...

hurricane katrina (that bitch!!) really screwed up one of my favorite cities- not to mention all of mississippi's coastline and into alabama. i really urge y'all to donate anything you can- be it small or large. everything helps. here in houston where we've taken in so many wonderful people, we're struggling too with unreliable cell phone coverage, long lines at the bank, the grocery, the gas pumps... but hey now, that's why we're here- to take care of one another. some good out of this devastating storm is that i've met some wonderful new friends that i adore. most of the evacuees are telling me that since they've lost everything that they're houstonians now. well, welcome to my great city. xoxo

now- let's go to juneau, alaska.

arriving at juneau on a chilly, rainy day.

all of the guides say that this cable car is the most popular tourist attraction...

the most popular thing for me to do is find a cold beer!! here i am at the red dog saloon.

here's the saloon at night...

there is certainly no smoking around the sawdust floors!!

walking downtown juneau...

remember that alaska was purchased from russia for 1 million dollars. that's about two cents and acre. ha ha ha ha !!

toddicus waiting for the bus...

errr... um... in alaska of all places??? eeewww

we took the bus for a 20 minute ride up to mendenhall glacier. look at that kayaker!!

and there i am.

it just makes you wanna fly.

it was drizzly and cloudly and i wanted a better look. so jason and i decided to hike
into the woods for a better look- in my armani jeans. bad idea.

so jason has this kettle corn fetish and we're carrying around this sugary popcorn and the sign says "do not take food into the woods". it also says, "do not run from bears. make lots of noise." so here i am with an arm load of kettle corn from juneau and jason is singing and i'm making lots of noise. it was a sight to behold. really.

walking through the alaskan rainforest was a true wonder.

we found this beautiful lake...

i love this picture because i don't know what i was thinking. : ))

the clouds parted when we got to the top of the hill and this was part of the view...

and this is a picture from about a half a mile closer. and higher too. those trails were tough!

and even closer...

so awesome!!

went off the beaten path and found a really nice waterfall... and i was still trying to keep the kettle corn hidden away from any sensitive bear noses.

and then we went back into town to have dinner at the twisted fish in juneau.

the entertainers at the twisted fish.

look at my girlfriend natalie from the uk flirting with me! meow!

our totally hot alaskan waiter.

some of the dancers and crew on the ship...

goodbye juneau... you were fun. and next we're off to skagway!!

if you want to email me and find out how you can help the refugees and evacuees here in houston then do so... or if you just want to email me and tell me how you're feeling about everything then that's fine too. i'm a good listener- and who knows, maybe i'll have some good advice for you.

take care of each other and call someone you love that you haven't spoken to in a while.

xoxo

Past adventures of Toddicus:
