this picture should explain it all. what you are about to see is toddicus' birthday pictures.
there is absolutely nothing educational about this week's update- just drunken pictures
of toddicus and people you may or may not know. but there is a new poem in the poem of the week section.

big joe at da pahty (that's for you kevin!)

i love this picture. ok, josh is covering his face. he hates pictures. firas looks amazed at cigarette lighting skills. beth looks over the booth disgruntled, and china, the little asian drag queen looks like mommy dearest meets siouxsie sioux in hong kong.

josh and toddicus.

dennis from russia, and china from, well, china.

anna and a friend with my goofball brother in the background to the left and paul on the right.

my brother and i are retards but he's more of a retard.

angelito del cielo makes a gesture that i would like to know more about considering how gay we are.

my brother and rob, who just got home from iraq.

toddicus wearing the virgen de guadalupe from angel, with josh, anna, and james.

toddicus gets the new calexico/iron & wine cd from morgan... but i already had it. look at her face, she's like "dammit!" and i'm like "ooops!"

michelle and me.

just a quick note... all of this protesting for/against illegal immigrants is pissing me off. let me just say that if this government wants to kick out all of the mexicans (let's face it- this is the real reason) then we'll be a country with the most expensive produce and houses in the world. the mexican people that work their fucking asses off in this country allow you to buy tomatoes, etc at very low costs. as an 'honorary mexican' as my latino friends have dubbed me, i feel compelled to write about this. many of my friends are here from mexico (legally and illegally) and work their asses off for hardly a dime so white people (and others) can have nice things. it's these very white people that are against the immigrants being here. firstly, don't kick them out for economic reasons (and so we don't have an argricultural nightmare) and secondly because they're my best friends. bienvenido a mi pais, mis amigos mexicanos. xoxoxoxo

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't even know where to start this time around... i've got pictures from mardi gras, from my birthday just this last weekend... i mean, where to begin when there's soooo much to tell you?

thanks, firstly, for all of your wonderful happy birthday emails. you guys kick ass. i had the best birthday ever.

let's start with a little mardi gras action and see where we end up. i might have to save my birthday pictures until next week- as there's probably a lot of editing to do ; )

my friend eddie flew in from indianapolis to join michelle and me at mardi gras on galveston island.

michelle and eddie share a laugh.

the parade is quite a spectacle!

and so is the crowd.

there's this little asian bar we like to hit on the island every mardi gras... but this year the pole for strippers was missing! holy crap! so i had to just pretend like it was the old days.

toddicus and michelle.

mardi gras crowd- lots and lots of different people from all over...

kids these days. ; )

fooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please, no comments about the corn cob in my hand. please.

sailors with big balls.

eddie and i enjoyed some tall boys baby.

yep. some washed up famous guy.

we went to the famous kon tiki lounge to watch drag performers to end our night...

the strand entrance and the tremont hotel after mardi gras...

when we got home, the drinking continued.

eddie and michelle take their seats on the couch for the big 'toddicus show' that's about to happen...

i don't remember what song i was dancing to.

banshee turned her back on me. she did not enjoy the show.

these are the pictures that you don't want your family to see.

don't you dare show anybody those pictures!! (actually, i'd love to share some of them with you, but i was really out of hand. really. freakin' bushmill's whiskey.)

ok! soon you'll get pictures of my birthday and new poetry in the 'poem of the week' section.

love you guys
xoxoxoxoxoxo
thanks again for the birthday well-wishes

another palm springs adventure...

there's not much i care about in life really... let's see... morrissey, kate bush, siouxsie, the indigo girls (yes really) all seem to get me through my day no matter if i'm happy or sad or inbetween. right now i'm just inbetween. my birthday is march 19th. i'm so old i fart dust. so i'm reflecting on what moves me... what do i feel strongly about? not just today, but consistently? animal rights. yes, i believe that animals are an integral part of this planet. i believe that cows, chickens, cats, and dogs are too and should be treated with respect. i believe that our oceans are sick. i believe that most fishermen that drag cages along the bottom of the sea to catch food for hungry people need a new profession. i believe that most people on the planet think more about what they'll get out of a situation than the person they're dealing with. i believe that most people's hearts can be completely broken, and remain that way, no matter how they act in public, or private for that matter. i believe that i'm destined to write poetry to help others (including myself!), to be single probably forever, and to eventually be happy without desire or greed. but not right now- i'm too weak for that yet. and i have to find some magical tape for this heart that's been broken since 1996.

on a lighter note- enjoy this update- another soul-searching trip- that's for sure!

maybe i should just make-out with myself.

el paso, texas in february- valentine's day.

another shot of el paso.

beautiful arizona.

these rocks are so huge. this picture doesn't do them justice.

my room at the hotel zoso in palm springs, california.

loved the flat screen tv. i've got to get one of those.

my dear, dear friend gilbert (and his studly man) drove in from los angeles to hang out...

hello lovers!

i wish!

gilbert in classic form.

beautiful palm springs- a lot of retired actors, etc come here to play. i went to see chad michaels, the cher impersonator and about flipped out! she looked like the old robot herself!

toddicus among the palms...

so beautiful!!!

more mountain scenery.

toddicus in the desert. i love when people misspell desert... like toddicus in the dessert. always makes me laugh.

my girl carla came in from los angeles- she was my assistant at the gallery in houston some time back- my favorite gal!! she helped me work and party all weekend! and she's a snuggle bug in the bedroom too, let me tell ya!

carla and myself in front of some of our kick-ass vintage posters.

and this is a picture i took on the way home through arizona at sunset.

thanks for stopping by again kids.
have an awesome week.
i love all of you. yes, even you.

fun in miami... then back to houston.

hey guys... i'm home from austin now, thank god. i've been on the road so much- i just wanna stay home for a couple of weeks! so... i am! it's march, i looove march. my birthday is march 19th. i love being a piscean. in southern texas the trees are blooming- the flowers are out in full force- everyone's playing in the park- cooking out, etc etc. i'm so glad to be back in houston- it's so beautiful. and it just so happens that i'm very happy right now- and i have been for some time- but now, especially, i am. to be home of course, and the fact that i have my eye on somebody- a poet, of course. : ) i am a very happy person.

so because normally my 'news/updates' have something a little bit educational in them, this one won't. not much anyway. this post is really about all of the friends i have and made in miami in january. o crap! don't forget that eric himan is playing live at guava lamp in houston, texas this thursday at 7:00pm- and guava paid for your tickets. it's a free show. i'll be there. xoxo

toddicus and salim drinking mucho at twist in miami on south beach.

my cousin becky and i tried to be sexy.

incest!

toddicus and becky's friend stephany. (notice my best friend gin & tonic in my hand)

this is the delano hotel where all the stars stay- where i play too. it's just too nice not to stay here.

my friend william from france hangs out at the pool at the delano hotel.

next door is the south seas hotel. it's also a really wonderful hotel.

toddicus looking like a total dork at gloria estefan's restaurant.

and there's her restaurant. that little tree on the left is where i was sitting when the picture above was taken.

ocean drive. (where they filmed the birdcage).

ahh... the beach.

the wind is blowin' my shirt makin' me look thick, baby.

toddicus and eric at laundry bar in miami. he was pretty drunk when i showed up. but i caught up.

it's called laundry bar because you can litterally go there, get drunk, and do your laundry all in one sitting.

toddicus and william at the laundry bar.

my boy salim frm morocco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mmmmm-hmmmmm.

my last night- gotta get back in the morning! goodbye miami!

thick fog through mobile, alabama.

more fog.

and just like last week's update said, everything is destroyed from all of the hurricanes. but at least i found gas.

ok kids. i'm home for a while- expect updates- next update will be el paso, texas, and palm springs, california. and then... just you wait kiddies.

xoxo love ya mean it,

toddicus

p.s. - i just found this really funny picture on the internet lol!!!!
